1. What convinces us that we are living in “the last days”?
WERE you born after the year 1914? If so, you have lived your entire life during “the last days” of the present system of things. (2 Tim. 3:1) All of us have heard about the events that Jesus foretold for this time. These include wars, food shortages, earthquakes, pestilences, an increasing of lawlessness, and the persecution of Jehovah’s people. (Matt. 24:3, 7-9, 12; Luke 21:10-12) We have also seen people behave in the way foretold by the apostle Paul. (See the box “ The Way People Are Now.”) As worshippers of Jehovah, we are convinced that we are living during “the final part of the days.”—Mic. 4:1.

The house-to-house activity is still the primary way in which the Witnesses make known Bible truth. Yet, literature carts have proved to be very effective. Consider some examples.
In Peru, a man named Raul approached the Witnesses at one of the carts and said: “Where have you been? I’ve been looking for the Witnesses for three years! When I saw your cart, I thanked God.”
Though the area where he lived was often visited by Jehovah’s Witnesses, Raul was never at home during the day or on weekends. He explained that he had previously studied the Bible with the Witnesses, and he wanted to resume his study. Arrangements were made for him to do so.So, (made up) Raul, lives in an area where Witnesses often preach house-to-house ( Raul never seems to be at home), (supposedly) had a Jehovah's Witness Bible study at one time, ( miraculously) walks near a literature cart and approaches a Jehovah's Witness with these words:
“Where have you been? I’ve been looking for the Witnesses for three years! When I saw your cart, I thanked God.”
Raul: For your information, there are telephone books and internet sites which would have led you to find the Jehovah's Witnesses faster than the three long years it took you to find a literature cart.
WHAT A STUPID AND MADE UP STORY FROM THE WTBTS TO SHOW HOW EFFECTIVE CART WITNESSING IS!

- How to Witness Using a Literature Display
How to Witness Using a Literature Display
Witnessing with a mobile cart or a table display is proving to be very effective in drawing honest hearted ones to the truth. (John 6:44) Therefore, elders have been encouraged to organize public witnessing in areas of the congregation’s territory where there is high pedestrian traffic. Since mobile displays are not stationary, generally there is no need to ask permission from the authorities. Who are qualified to participate? Publishers who demonstrate good judgment, present themselves in a dignified way, and have good conversation skills. The following are some dos and don’ts that will help publishers have more success.
Do:Be friendly, welcoming, and helpful to passersby. Some publishers give a warm, genuine smile and say a friendly greeting. If someone looks at the display as he passes by, you might say, “You can take something if you like.”
Stand at an appropriate distance from the display. In some places publishers experience success when they stand within a few feet of the display. Others find that this method makes passersby hesitant to stop, so they stand a little farther away and wait until someone stops at the display. Once a person approaches the display, try to engage him in conversation, perhaps by asking, “Have you ever thought about that question before?”
Use the Bible as often as possible.
Explain the Bible study arrangement to anyone who takes one of our study publications, such as the Bible Teach book. Offer to play the video Why Study the Bible? on an electronic device.
Obtain contact information from interested ones when possible. If the person does not live in your territory, fill out a Please Follow Up (S-43) form, and give it to the secretary as soon as possible.
Don’t:Be aggressive, insistent, or pushy or stand next to the display like a sentinel.
View this form of witnessing as simply a way to distribute literature. When we are in the ministry, our goal is to start Bible studies, so we should try to engage individuals in conversation.
Block the display or become too engrossed in conversation with your partner. If you must use your cell phone for a personal call, it is usually best to step away from the display.
Get involved in debates with opposers. If an opposer becomes abusive, it may be necessary to move to another location.

Here is a man named Jerry. On a public sidewalk, he asks attendees leaving a Jehovah's Witness Convention in San Diego a simple question, ''Do Jehovah's Witnesses have the truth."
Not one person acknowledges him. Not even a ''hello.''They all walk away from him like he has bubonic plague.
Here is a Jehovah's Witnesses cart witnessing ( getting in field service hours). She will try to hand out bible literature to passersby. DOUBLE STANDARDS, ANYONE!

Anthony : You forgot to mention that after free labor and the numerous hours time spent from volunteers, the Watchtower Society owns these properties and has the right to sell them at any time. No wonder the society need members around the world with construction skills.

ARTICLE : JW.ORG...... CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS
They Ask for Work but Not for Pay
Over the past 28 years, more than 11,000 of Jehovah’s Witnesses have left their homes and even the country where they lived to construct buildings in 120 countries. All have happily donated their skill and energy full-time, without pay.
Many paid their own way to get to the project. Some used their vacation to work. Others took a leave from their regular employment, forfeiting considerable income.
They were under no compulsion to make such sacrifices, but they offered themselves willingly to advance the global preaching of the good news of the Kingdom. (Matthew 24:14) They have constructed offices, residences, and facilities for the printing of Bibles and Bible-based literature. Jehovah’s Witnesses have also built Assembly Halls with as many as 10,000 seats and Kingdom Halls with up to 300 seats.
This activity is still under way. Once the workers arrive at a project site, the local branch office provides housing, meals, laundry, and other daily needs. Local Witnesses also share in the joy of construction work.
To organize and coordinate this vast effort, an international program was set up in 1985. To share in this program, volunteers must be Jehovah’s Witnesses who are between 19 and 55 years of age and skilled in at least one construction trade. Typically, an assignment in the program will range from two weeks to three months, though sometimes it may extend for a year or longer.
Wives of construction workers have been trained to do such tasks as tying reinforcing steel together with wire, setting tile, or sanding and painting. Others help prepare meals for the workforce or clean their accommodations.
When volunteers return to their homes, some of them write to express thanks that they were invited to work. One couple wrote: “We want to thank you very much for the privilege we had to work at the branch in Budapest. The Witnesses in Hungary were so loving and appreciative! Saying good-bye to them after our month there was difficult. But that’s always the case, isn’t it? We hope to be able to go again in the spring. Each time we’ve gone on an assignment, it has felt like the best month of our lives.”

Anthony...I see your point! Doctors and Lawyers cannot build Kingdom Halls and large Watchtower complexes. The Society needs thousands of manual laborers and only a few Lawyers.
Only hard-working members in the building trades ( carpenters, plumbers, electricians, drywallers, truck drivers, cement contractors) that benefit the Watchtower Society need to apply!

How can the New World Translation be the ''finest Bible translation'' without containing any errors?

Errors? That book is full of LIES! Not just errors. They said that this book was the finest translation back in 1984, when they bashed the King James version for having so many faults.
Here is just one example of a lie from the Governing Body and Writing Committees 2013 New World Translation revision:
2 Corinthians 5:20 KING JAMES BIBLE
2 Corinthians 5:20 NEW WORLD TRANSLATION 2013
20 Therefore, we are ambassadors+ substituting for Christ,+ as though God were making an appeal through us. As substitutes for Christ, we beg: “Become reconciled to God.”

"Finest" is not synonymous with "perfect" or "error-free".
They use ''finest'' as a weasel word. ''Finest'' in Jehovah's Witness land would be ingrained as ''perfect'' or ''error-free.''weasel word: noun
a word used to temper the forthrightness of a statement; a word that makes one's views equivocal, misleading, or confusing. -

“WHO REALLY IS THE FAITHFUL AND DISCREET SLAVE?”
12. Since the Governing Body is neither inspired nor infallible, what questions arise?
12 The Governing Body is neither inspired nor infallible. Therefore, it can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction. In fact, the Watch Tower Publications Index includes the heading “Beliefs Clarified,” which lists adjustments in our Scriptural understanding since 1870. Of course, Jesus did not tell us that his faithful slave would produce perfect spiritual food. So how can we answer Jesus’ question: “Who really is the faithful and discreet slave?” (Matt. 24:45) What evidence is there that the Governing Body is filling that role? Let us consider the same three factors that directed the governing body in the first century.
Here is the Watchtower Study article stating that the Governing Body is ''neither inspired nor infallible, it can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction and not produce perfect spiritual food.''
So if Jehovah inspired an imperfect organization to write a newly revised edition, how can the New World Translation be the ''finest translation'' without containing any errors?
